Bramatopin
Origin
This group pioneers its trajectory for the interest to music of all their components (all of them with different musical styles) and for the will of revitalizing the musical panorama in Aran, since this feels at present lacking in references.
Our main goal in this adventure is, moreover having fun in playing our music, to make dance and to make those that listen to us spend a nice while. Also it is for us a way to introduce a part of the Aran cultural reality out of our territory.
The musical style of Bramatopin could be classified as folk. Our repertoire spreads from the traditional songs that we have adapted, to our own composed pieces, as well as numerous listing of popular dances to make dance of square.
Instruments
The instruments that we play in Bramatopin are diverse, the more distinguished are the boha Gascona, the diatonic accordion diatonic, flutes, guitar percussion and violin.
BRAMATOPIN
It is an instrument made with a recipient of mud, which acts as soundbox, and covered by a leather of goat or sheep with a hole in the middle
ACORDEON DIATONIC
It arrived to the Gascony at the end of the 19th century and it was popularized by the factory Dedenis, in Briva (Lemosin).
Contrary to the chromatic accordion, of manufacture it is more recent. Once we tight one of its buttons it is different as it is launched or it narrows of the “bohet”.
FLAUTA DE TRES TRAUS
The flutes of three holes have two holes in the leading part and one in that of behind. Normally they are made of boxwood and it is played only with a hand.
CARAMÈRA
The caramèra comes to be a rudimentary clarinet.
It consists of three parts:
– one end, of some twenty centimeters, of empty wood inside, In which six holes have been made.
– a horn, which is connected in its extreme narrow month with the wood.
– one simple inflate a bit sunk in the end of the wood simple
So that it sounds it is necessary to blow continuously
